Do you ever see monkeys take baths? During winter in Hokkaido, the snow monkeys (Japanese macaques, nihonzaru) soak in the onsen(hot spring) as the same as humans peacefully. The adorable looks will melt your heart.

Hakodate Tropical Botanical Garden
Period: 1st December – May Golden week(snow monkeys entering the year tour possible, but it’s only available to see snow monkeys soaking in hot spring during 1st December to May Golden week)

How To Get Here
- By bus
Take the Hakodate Bus Line 95 bound for “Hiyoshi eigyosho mae” and reach the “Tropical Botanical Garden”. Then walk for 3 minutes.
- By tram
From the Hakodate-Ekimae tram get on a Route 2 tram going toward Yunokawa onsen. And, get off “Yunokawa onsen” and walk for about 15 minutes.
