Often the snow is deep in the winter, and Half-calf and above snow boots are always the best choices for hiking by my husband’s experience. That way, he can walk through the deep snow without losing his snow boots. Except dumps rubbish or has a cigarette outdoors, he would wear snow duck boots for easy wear and don’t care if they get dirty.

Experience: He is not a big fan of Timberland, and he bought these boots because his friend is a royal fan of Timberland. By the casual looks, he won’t wear it for business. Sometimes, my husband wears thick pants in the snowy weather. And these boots are bulky, and it’s a perfect fit with style. Very satisfied with the warmth and sole traction. The spotlight of these boots is that you won’t feel pain in the ankle and knee while walking for a long time. For casual snow boots, it’s great.
He wore them hiking for serval times, and the sole cracked in two months. Also, these boots got ripped stitchings. Apparently, the stitching technical is not good enough for the price.
Recommend you order 1/2 size down. My husband’s friend suggested he order half size down, and it just comfortable fit his feet.

Experience: My husband’s friend bought these boots. For a boot that has laces and needs to be tied, this one is pretty simple. He wears them daily as it’s convenient to slip feet into boots and warm. Although the lug pattern on the sole did not grip well as most, it did okay in the snow.
The downside is these boots are a bit roomy, and that way, it is not good to hike in them. But it’s perfect for daily casual use.

Pros: Cheap, good traction, loose fit, warm, waterproof, wide feet friendly
Cons: Heavy, leaking seam between upper and lower
Experience: My husband bought it for his friend who visited and stayed with us for a month. The Kamik Greenbay 4 are affordable, and it is easy to get on and off.
His friend flew from summer Australia to Snow season Hokkaido, and it’s hard for him to maintain the cold in a short time. However, these boots never let his feet feel cold. Objectively, it proves how well the snow boots retain heat. They don’t have the best traction, but walking on the steep and firm snow slope is good.
Kamik Greenbay 4 are wide feet friendly. They have Greenbay 4 in wide width version, which every foot can find the perfect size for themselves.
The downside is these boots are clunky and roomy. Therefore, my husband’s friend couldn’t wear them to hiking or walk on the trail. (They are good enough to run the snowblower or build a snowman.)

My husband’s second pair of snow Chelsea boots are still from Blundstone. Well-balance of classic looks and comfort are the most reason that he wears them quite often to work. Although it doesn’t make with insulation, he feels good enough short walk or stands in the snowy weather. (He wear thermal socks.) These boots are snug fit and lightweight for a sturdy shoe.
However, the top of the cuff is unavailable to tight. So that easy to get snow in when snowing.

Sorel Men’s Caribou™ Boot
Pros: Great traction, waterproof, comfortable, super warm, wide feet friendly
Cons: Heavy, sloppy fit, potential durability issues
Experience: Sorel Caribou boots are definitely the one you need to survive in the inclement snow weather. These boots are a must-have for my husband. It’s warm, waterproof, and easy to put on. he always wears them to shovel snow on the path and roof. And the Pac liners are removable. I can easy to wash these super warm liners every week for my husband.
However, Sorel Caribou boots are not for hiking or snug fit either because their super large and spacious fit guarantees that false statement. Similarly, these sloppy boots are great for not only regular but wide feet. Also, they’re heavy boots that you won’t walk far in them.
Overalls, Sorel Caribou boots are the definite snow boots for many people. I would recommend people who live in the snowy weather.
Sperry Men’s Ice Bay Tall Boot with Thinsulate™
Pros: Great traction, waterproof, comfortable
Cons: lack ability of insulation and ankle support
Experience: My husband bought it as an ‘outdoor snow slipper.’ These boots are lace-up closure, but my husband tied the bootlace loosely. That way, they are easy to wear on and change his shoes in the car.
He found out Sperry Ice Bay Tall Boots are with excellent traction. The outdoor paths between stores are often icy and slippery, and we usually spread stones (took them from the roadside) on the road and walk through it. But he can walk through the ice stability with these boots.
He often wears these boots to dump rubbish and has a cigarette. They are comfortable being in for multiple hours. And however, his feet felt cold after about 30 minutes. (Even it said these boots are 200 grams insulation on the official website.) Also, he felt pain in his ankle when walking for a long time with these boots, and they provided inadequate ankle support, which good snow boots should have.
I would say these boots are great for wearing outdoor short term.
My husband used to wear it to drive and put his luxury snow boots at the passenger seat. That way, his shoes always look great and clean in the meeting. And if he went to the petrol station, Sperry Ice Bay Tall duck boots make his outfit stylish.

Experience: I bought Balmain Rossignol snow boots for my husband. My first thought is Moncler Mhyke Low to match style with my Dior snow ankle boots. But it’s low, and snow will be easy to get in. Especially he won’t get wet boots on our ski holidays in them, then I thought, why don’t I buy knee-high snow boots for him?
They have a loose and roomy fit, which is comfortable, but you can’t walk long term or hiking. (not enough ankle support.) Not sure the comfort rated this model is. In reality, Balmain Rossignol snow boots have insulation to make my husband’s feet warm. Also, snow couldn’t get into boots by tight the string cinch at the top of the cuff.
And These boots are light.
The downsides are price and the sole traction. The price is costly that my money tank is pretty dry after I bought these boots. And the rounded dotted lug pattern on the Balmain Rossignol snow boots is significantly different from most in this review. However, it is still okay in the snow. These boots did not grip well, possibly due to the round lugs not biting well upon contact.

Tom Ford Monk Strap Ankle Boots
Pros: good traction, great fit, comfortable
Cons: It doesn’t design for inclement weather
Experience: This boot sits comfortably for formality in the snow season with its bold buckle and non-slip sole. My husband bought these boots for business in the winter, and they look understated stylish and timeless. At the same time, ridged rubber sole gives him the confidence to walk on the snow, outdoor for a cup of coffee or cigarette during the meeting.
The only downside is that they are not primarily for snow weather. Therefore, Tom Ford monk strap ankle boots are not insulated and waterproof. But like some leather boots, my husband won’t do a waterproof spread on them to damage the leather (it could happen, even if it’s designed for leather material.)
Best Men’s Winter Snow Boots for Hiking
Pros: Great traction, waterproof, super warm, great fit, comfortable
Cons: Narrow
Experience: Excellent snow boots. My husband wears them to fishing, hiking and hunting, and they are so warm and snug that he never gets cold feet with these boots. (actually a little too hot for anything above -15°C) Truly waterproof that he doesn’t feel afraid to splash through puddles. These boots have enough excellent traction on snow and ice. When he went ice fishing, he felt stable on every step. Moreover, comfortable after hours and long days of walking in them while hiking in the snow. They are my husband’s favourite snow boots for cold outdoor activities in the snow.
One of his good friends who has wide feet came to try these boots before he purchased them. (We’re 4 hours drive from the retail shop.) He is the same length size as my husband but has wide width than my husband. However, he felt too tight to wear in. Therefore, I suggest if you got wide feet going for another. Besides, if you’re looking for hiking snow boots, go no further.

My husband likes minimal boots in the cabinet. It’s not easy for the snow season, and because you literally won’t do groceries in hiking snow boots or ice fishing in casual snow boots.
