Copper Mountain Copper One Lodge
(View on Booking.com or Agoda.com)
Address: Frisco, CO 80443, United States
Pros: Close the lifts and restaurants, ski storage provided, nice outdoor hot tub, friendly and helpful staff
Cons: Room needs updating
Review: It’s a two-bedroom whole apartment. Check-in was easy. The condo was clean, spacious and very comfortable. Separated bedrooms and dining areas allow kids to take naps sincerely.
It cannot beat the location, a 2-minute leisurely walk from the apartment to the ski lifts, right at the foot of the mountain with access to gondolas, roller coasters, go-karts, mountain bikes, shops, and restaurants.
The downside is the room has 70’s looks feeling, and the couch was quite old. Apparently, Copper One need to update rooms. But we didn’t spend much time in the room, so that’s okay.
This mid-range condo gets my nod as the top family-friendly condo in Copper Mountain for its babysitting service. However, they may not always provide babysitting services during COVID-19. Suggest double-check with them before you make a reservation.
Element 29 Hotel Copper Mountain
(View on Expedia.com or Hotel.com)
Pros: Kids playground, soundproof room, 24hr front desk, modern designed room, clean
Cons: Dry air, no breakfast
Review: Element 29 Hotel is a new property in a great, surprise location. It’s fresh, clean, nice open lobby, functional rooms, comfortable beds, a lovely shower, and modern. The front office staff were helpful and friendly, and the nighttime staff were excellent and had a good sense of humour. My friend’s 7 nights stay with family was pleasant and comfortable.
Great location and easy parking, no fees. My friend arrived too early to check-in, but the staff still gave her a parking pass. So she didn’t have to pay for parking elsewhere and could get her son out.
Copper’s newest hotel is close to the mountain, within walking distance of ski lifts. It’s an 8-10 minute walk to Center Village and 2-10 minutes to restaurants nearby. There is not much around it at night. But with the Bar in the hotel, it’s good enough for parents to relax after kids asleep. The soundproof room is a bonus for parents. Uninterrupted sleep after a skiing day is essential for kids and adults. Especial, parents can get some Me Time after kids fall asleep.
There’s a ski rental shop in the lobby with free storage service daily, and it seems efficient.
The downside is that the hotel does not provide a humidifier in the room, making it hard to sleep due to the high altitude and dry air.
My friend would’ve appreciated some hooks in the room to hang up gloves, hats, and ski clothes after a day of skiing. Because they needed to separate clean clothes and ski clothes. And without hooks, they had to put all the ski clothes on the floor.
Moreover, an onsite bar also serves pizza in the evenings, but there is no breakfast. It would be really nice for the family to be able to eat breakfast at the hotel before heading up to ski, even if breakfast costs an extra fee.
Overall, it’s an excellent place for families to stay in Copper Mountain.
Passage Point at Center
(View on Booking.com or Expedia.com)
Address: 910 Copper Rd, Frisco, CO 80443, United States
Pros: 24hr front desk, children stay free, massage, kids playground
Cons: The swimming pool did not actually work
Review: This condo exceeded my expectations. The place was spotless and convenient. We could easily walk to 2 great lifts, several bars, and restaurants at Center Village within 5 minutes. The service was outstanding.
Clean and great decor and touches. Well maintained humidifier. Two bedrooms were outstanding. The master room is very comfortable, and the second bedroom is a bunk bed, with a queen bed on the bottom and a full Bed on the top. Great for kids.
Our Lodge at Passage Point was perfect. The actual room is very spacious, lovely, and has a balcony. We could sit on the private balcony and enjoy epic views of Copper Mountain Village and the surrounding Rocky Mountains.
There’re many winter activities for families nearby, like ice skating, downhill skiing, and snowboarding. After a busy day, we had fun at the swimming pool with the kids. Plus, I booked an excellent massage and had a lovely relaxation at the condo.
Close to restaurants with a direct 8-minute walk to nearby cafes and restaurants.
Everything was good. Unfortunately, our bed was a super firm mattress. This made sleeping not easy. Also, we were a bit disappointed that the hot tub wasn’t working during our stay.
To conclude, it’s a stunning place for the family to stay in Copper Mountain.
Summit House
(View on Booking.com or Agoda.com)
Address: Copper Mountain, 80443, United States
Pros: Clean, massage, spacious, good location
Cons: Ancient building, uncomfortable beds
Review: My friend booked this condo for their family ski vacation in Copper Mountain. It’s very close to the lifts and the centre village, walking distance to everything.
Everything was clean. My friend appreciated the place was well-furnished and well-equipped, especially the kitchen. So that she could prepare some food for the little one.
There are 2 bedrooms with a balcony. It’s roomy that my friend got space to play with her kid. Great views of the mountain gave them a snow vibe vacation.
That being said, there are a few things to be aware of. It’s spacious, but the beds were uncomfortable. Also, the blinds do not block out light from outside at night. Therefore, bring something to cover your eyes if you need it dark to sleep.
Bit retro building but worth the price for family stays.
Mountain Plaza Copper Mountain
(View on Booking.com or Expedia.com)
Address: 509 Copper Rd, Frisco, CO 80443, United States
Pros: Very convenient location, roomy, massage, modern building
Cons: Noisy
Review: Mountain Plaza is a decent place. The lodge is right in Center Village and within walking distance of all restaurants and the lifts. Lots of drinking and food spots. The staff was super friendly, and check-in was easy.
It’s neat, clean and spacious. The fridge was small but good enough for our leftovers. One extra-large double bed in the master room. And the second room with 2 large double beds. The living room was great, with space for everyone to be together. Perfect for families.
There was convenient ski storage just down the hall. Using the hot tub after our day of skiing was an added bonus. Seems like they are upgrading that building every year to keep it lovely.
Here are the disadvantages thought. The room is not soundproof enough. The walls were pretty thin, and we could hear from our neighbours and people in the hallway at all hours. So bring earplugs if you want to sleep. And it is not great for the family with little ones as they may quickly wake up by the noise.
Copper Junction
(View on Booking.com or Agoda.com)
Address: 214 Ten Mile Cir, Frisco, CO 80443, United States
Pros: Nice views, comfortable, roomy, clean
Cons: Tight parking space
Review: This is a whole house type lodge, providing all the basic things you need. It’s plenty of space with a furnished kitchen. The stunning mountain views and great helpful staff make the Copper vacation more joyful.
Situated 0.9 miles away from the centre of Copper Mountain. Only stepping away from the lift and the easy convenience of restaurants nearby. We could go back for lunch and back to the slope with the kids. After skiing, we could lock our skis in the ski lockers downstairs. Absolutely love the location and comfort of this place.
If you’re interested in historical sites, the High Line Railroad Park (6.5 miles) and Camp Hale (5.3 miles) are close to Copper Junction.
The drawback is the condo is getting close to need a renovation. Also, parking is very tight and not enclosed in the basement parking garage.
However, it is a ski-in/ski-out and very close to all the shops and restaurants that make up for it.
West Lake Lodge Copper Mountain
(View on Booking.com or Hotels.com)
Address: 760 Copper Road, Copper Mountain, 80443, CO, United States of America
Pros: Spacious, Kids playground, massage, kids playground
Cons: General cleanliness of the unit was a concern, uncomfortable beds
Review: The property is spacious and comfortable for a group of 6. Conveniently located in the Central Village and deliver great view over the village. It’s 1.3 km from the centre of Copper Mountain, a short walk to the lifts and restaurants.
The kitchen is nice, big and well equipped. And the rooms are fully-appointed.
I woke up in the morning to prepare an excellent breakfast. Then grab my morning coffee, sit on the couch, and face the picturesque snowy view. It’s my cosy morning before everyone wakeup during the family ski vacation in Copper Mountain.
After a day on the slopes, we took kids to the playground to indulge and work off some energy. The hot tub and sauna were good for relaxation. Restaurants are close, so we could walk to the restaurant.
However, the lodge was dirty, and dust was everywhere. Also, beds are at the bottom of the line, hard as rocks and sways with every turn. I believe it should provide better general cleanliness and mattress quality for customers.
