Hakodate illumination brightens the west foot of Mt. Hakodate with luxury lights. You can enjoy the unique winter scenery of Hakodate at the main event of the Hakodate Winter Festival. The cityscape of the winter scenery will be transformed into a corridor of light.
The trees on the roadside of Kaiko-Dori that connect Hakodate Station and the bay area (in front of Meijikan to Nijukken-zaka slope) are illuminated. And it looks fantastic.
One of the most popular is the scenery overlooking the bay area from the top of the Hachiman-zaka slope. It looks magnificent! I took hundreds of pictures. Highly recommend you get prepared before going. (such as wearing good looking clothes, camera, etc) Hachiman-zaka slope is road-heated, so you can easily walk in the snow season.
These historical buildings such as Hakodate Meijikan, Kanemori Red Brick Warehouse, and Motomachi Churches are light up. You can enjoy the romantic view while you stroll around.
In the Bay Area, Hakodate Christmas Fantasy will be held from December 1st to December 25th(dates may change every year), and the illuminations there will be gorgeous.
For travel families, it’s a great time to enjoy the romantic scenery together. It’s cold but it warms the heart.
