September
The temperature drops from the middle of September. You will steadily add more warm clothes as it comes to get chilly. That’s to say, September is the month with the highest rainfall in Hokkaido. Be prepared for rain if you plan on visiting in September.

Gradually the leaves turn red or yellow from middle October in southern Hokkaido to northern Hokkaido. Besides, it snowed on the top of mountains in October, which almost means the season is changing to Winter. The temperature is too warm to keep snow on the surface. Thus, it’s still okay to wear sneakers.
