The Flower Tunnel, also called Sakura Tunnel(桜のトンネル) is the most famous blossom Japanese cherry spot in Noboribetsu. There are more than 2000 cherry blossoms lined up on both sides of Route 2.

About Noboribetsu Road
People who live in Hokkaido planted cherry trees in 1934 to commemorate the birth of the Crown Prince-Akihito Koutaishi (currently former emperor of Japan). Since then, the number of cherry blossoms has increased little by little every year.
Cherry Blossom
There are many good spots for viewing cherry blossoms in Noboribetsu. The most famous one is the Sakura Tunnel.
Approximately 2000 Sargent’s cherry blossoms bloom along about 8 kilometres from JR Noboribetsu Station to Noboribetsu Onsen. Therefore, it is pleasing to the eyes of people with its beautiful pink-dyed Sargent’s cherry tree. Also, you can enjoy the cherry blossoms at night while strolling through the tunnel, and it’s stunning.

About 7 minutes by Donan Bus bound for Noboribetsu Onsen from JR Noboribetsu Station, get off at Utopia Ranch from Sanai Hospital.

About 1 minute from Noboribetsu East IC on the Hokkaido Expressway.
