Part of Hokkaido is transformed into a vast sea of flowers from July to August. It starts the purple season in July, which is followed by lavenders. Then the sunflowers show their warm colours from July to End August. Enjoy your slow family vacation in the panoramic Summer flower fields.

Things Before You Go
Summer in Hokkaido is often rainy weather. Before you visit, check Hokkaido Weather [Click Here] and the Hokkaido Summer Clothing Tips [Click Here] to help you bring the right clothes to enjoy the family trip.
It’s a great experience to walk in the sea of flowers with kids. However, it is sometimes too vast to walk for kids. Bringing a stroller can help you and your kids to make the experience joyful.

It is the top 4 on my list of summer flower places to go with kids to Hokkaido.

Hokuryu Sunflower Village
The word of sunflowers in Japanese is ひまわり (向日葵). The name comes from the flower always facing the sun. In addition, the flowers face East when fully grown. In Hokuryu Sunflower Village, the 2 million vibrant sunflowers splash their golden warmth across the landscape. The spectacular view made it famous for summer flower sightseeing in Hokkaido. The bicycle rental cost was ¥100/hour. It’s great to ride a bicycle with kids around the never-end sunflower field.
