Cherry Blossom

From the Yushun No Sato Park entrance, there is a 3 kilometres row with approximately 1000 cherry trees. Some of the trees are over 100 years old, and it’s famous for cherry blossoms along the row like a beautiful sakura tunnel.

In addition to the cherry blossom row, there is a Urakawa Sakura Festival (浦河桜まつり) in early May. These illuminated cherry trees are stunning at nighttime, and people visiting during this period can enjoy cherry blossoms from daytime to night.

In April 2004, when we solicited a new name from the townspeople to get to know this row of cherry blossom trees more, it was named “Yushun Sakura Ro-do (Yushun Sakura Road).”
