Moerenuma Park, created by one of the world-renowned sculptors-Isamu Noguchi. He intended the “Circular Greenbelt Concept” to design-build this comprehensive park in Sapporo. Magnificent blossom Japanese cherry in spring. Crowded with dabblers in the summer. Grand firework in the autumn. Sapporo snow fun in the winter Hokkaido. Besides, many Noguchi sculpture installation art exhibits allowed people to feel the art itself in the park. It’s top 1 on my list for families’ getaway in Sapporo.
About Moerenuma Park
The park was reborn from a waste disposal site and transformed into an art park representative of Sapporo for 23 years. A Japanese-American sculptor-Isamu Noguchi design-build based on the concept of “the whole being a single sculpture.”
In 1988, after Isamu Noguchi passed away, the construction obeyed Isamu Noguchi’s master plan. And the grand opening of Moerenuma Park in 2005.
Cherry Blossom
There is an area called the “forest of cherry trees” in Moerenuma Park. A forest of cherry trees with about 1,800 cherry trees planted. There are seven play equipment areas hidden in it. All the playsets installed are designed by Isamu Noguchi.
Highly recommend bringing some snacks and drinks for the picnic. Last time I went there with friends and kids. We picnic not far from the play equipment. So we enjoy the magnificent Japanese blossom and picnic, kids play with the play equipment, with the lovely falling sakura petals. All of us had a good time.
P.S.My friends’ kids slept in 3 seconds when they came back home. She got a great “Me Time” that night. (Smile, relax, and mommy juice)
NOTICE: Fire and barbeque are not allowed.

Snow Sledding And Skiing
The yearly snowfall in Sapporo totals six meters, so people are very used to snow. The children living in Hokkaido love to play in the snow! You can snow sledding from the mountain top or hill, building a snowman or snow castle. Kids love to play snow here because they have enough space to play around.
Recommend you bring some hot drink and water in the eskie, and snacks. When kids start to ask it, you will be glad you have it with you.
