Ice slide is a pop snow activity in Hokkaido. It’s a great idea for families to days out with the kids. Families of all ages all enjoying the ride together. In early February every year, there is a 20 meter-long ice slide, which collects from the icebound Onuma lake at the Onuma Hakodate Snow and Ice Festival. Also, there is not only a snowman and ice sculpture exhibition but also some food stalls at the venue. Those snowmen and ice sculptures are made by local school students.
It’s fun things to do with kids in winter.

How To Get Here
From Hakodate station to Onuma Hakodate Snow and Ice Festival, there are 2 ways.
- By car
About 40 minutes drive via Hakodate Shindo and National Highway 5
- By train
Take the express train – Hokuto/Super Hokuto train or a local train to JR Onuma Koen Station, then walk for about 5 minutes.
